Chatr coverage & network: how it works and what to expect

Chatr doesn’t build its own cell towers. It rides on the parent Rogers national network as a brand within the family — the same MVNO-style model many value brands use. Chatr service is primarily marketed on 4G LTE[4]. Two different ideas often get confused, so let’s separate them:

As older 3G networks are retired across the industry, VoLTE (Voice over LTE) has become important: increasingly your phone must support VoLTE to make regular calls[4]. As a general industry pattern — not a Chatr-specific claim — dense urban areas usually have strong, fast coverage, while rural and remote areas can have weaker signal or fewer high-speed options[9].
